Tips for using a Mac with SendOutCards
iPhoto
Here are some options for getting your photos out of iPhoto and into SendOutCards. Most people may find option "b" a little easier.
Option A:
- Login to SendOutCards
- From the Main Menu, click on “Pictures”
- Click on “Upload More Pictures”
- Click “Browse Photos”
- On the lift side, scroll down to “Media”
- Click on “Photos”
- iPhoto will pull up
- Click on “Photos”
- Select the photos you wish to upload and click “Open”
- This will upload the photos into your account
- Click “Upload”
- Once processed, click “Start”
- These photos will now be in your “Pictures”
Option B:
- Open iPhoto
- Locate the image you would like to use and drag the image onto your desktop. By dragging your image from iPhoto to your desktop, you are copying the image from its original location to the desktop folder. You are not actually moving the image from its original location so it will not affect anything in iPhoto.
- Login to SendOutCards and click "PicturePlus 2.0"
- Click "Choose File" or "Browse..."
- This will open a small file upload window
- On the left column select "Desktop"
- Select your image and click "Choose" or "Open"
- This will upload your image to PicturePlus 2.0
Address Book
Instructions on exporting your contacts from Address Book and into SendOutCards are listed below.
First, you will need Address Book Exporter to convert your vcard file (the type of file address book uses) to text tab delimited (the type of file SendOutCards requires).
- Install this program and open it up
- Check the bubble next to "export using current filed settings"
- Click "configure settings"
- Here you can check and un-check all of the information that will be exported. The main fields that you can import into your SendOutCards contact manager are these:
- First Name (NOTE: "phonetic" would be the spouse info)
- Last Name
- Organization
- Address (NOTE: you can only import one address into SendOutCards, so please only select either "work", "home" or "other")
- Email (NOTE: only one email address can be imported so only select either "work", "home" or "other")
- Phone (NOTE: you can import the "home", "work", "mobile" and "fax" numbers)
- Birthday
- Make sure the box is checked for "write column titles as first line" and click "ok"
- At this point you should be back at the main screen for address book exporter
- Select your group you would like to export (if you want all contacts select "all"
- Click "export address book"
- Type "contact list" into the "save as" field and choose "desktop" for the "where" option
- Click "save"
- Close address book exporter
